Description

Day 1: We will pick you up at your hotel around 10:00 a.m. to start the trip to the outskirts of Uyuni. Our first stop will be at the train cemetery, where you can take some pictures. Then, we will head to Colchani, where you can admire handicrafts made of salt. Afterwards, we will enter the Uyuni salt flat and pass by the Dakar Rally monument and the Salt Museum. We will continue to Incahuasi Island, a rock formation in the middle of the salt flat. Here, we will walk along a marked trail, surrounded by giant cacti, until we reach the top, from where you will enjoy panoramic views of the salt flat. Later, we will contemplate the sunset over the salt flat before returning to our hotel for dinner and rest. Day 2: We will start the day early, leaving the hotel for the town of San Cristobal. On the way, we will visit the Rocas Valley and the Black Lagoon. Then, we will enter the impressive landscape of the Bolivian altiplanic lagoons, making stops at the Cañapa, Hedionda and Chiarkota lagoons, where you will be able to take pictures and rest from the journey in the vehicle. We will also stop at Laguna Honda before continuing on to our second lodging. Day 3: On our last day of the tour, we will first head to the Laguna Colorada, one of the main attractions of the Bolivian Altiplano after the Salar de Uyuni. After enjoying this natural spectacle, we will continue on to the Sol de Mañana geysers and the Polques hot springs. We will make additional stops at the Blanca and Verde lagoons, located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. Finally, we will head to the border post to begin our direct return to the city of Uyuni, following the standard itinerary of the Salar de Uyuni and Lagunas de Colores tour. Altiplanic winter: During the months of January to April, the climatic phenomenon known as Altiplanic winter occurs, which involves rainfall in the central Andes. Due to this, it is possible that the itinerary may be modified, such as the exclusion of the visit to Incahuasi Island, which may have a greater accumulation of water during this period.
