Description

Day 1: We will pick you up at your hotel around 10:00 a.m. to start the trip to the outskirts of Uyuni. Our first stop will be at the train cemetery, where you can take some pictures. Then, we will head to Colchani, where you will have the opportunity to see the salt handicrafts. Afterwards, we will enter the Uyuni salt flat and pass by the Dakar Rally monument and the Salt Museum. We will continue to Incahuasi Island, a rock formation in the middle of the salt flat. Here, we will walk along the marked trail, surrounded by giant cacti, until we reach the top of the island, from where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the salt flat. Later, we will watch the sunset over the salt flat before heading to our hotel for dinner and rest. Day 2: We will start our day early, leaving the hotel to head towards the town of San Cristobal. On the way, we will visit the Rocas Valley and the Negra Lagoon. Then, we will enter the impressive landscape of the Bolivian altiplanic lagoons. We will make stops at the Cañapa, Hedionda and Chiarkota lagoons, where you will have the opportunity to take pictures and take a break from the trip in the vehicle. We will also stop at the Honda Lagoon before continuing on our way to our second lodge. Day 3: On this last day of the tour, we will first head to the Colorada Lagoon, one of the highlights of the Bolivian Altiplano after the Uyuni Salt Flat. After enjoying this natural spectacle, we will continue on to the Sol de Mañana geysers and the Polques hot springs. We will make additional stops at the Blanca and Verde lagoons, located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. Finally, we will head to the border post to begin our direct return to the city of Uyuni, following the same standard itinerary of the Salar de Uyuni and Lagunas de Colores tour. Altiplano winter: During the months of January through April, the climatic phenomenon known as the Altiplanic winter, a period of rainfall in the central Andes, occurs. Because of this, it is possible that modifications may be made to the itinerary, such as the exclusion of the visit to Incahuasi Island, which has a higher concentration of water during this period of precipitation.
