Description

Day 1: Train Cemetery - Colchani - Salt Hotel - Incahuasi Island -We will start our tour with a visit to the train cemetery to see the old locomotives. -Then we will go to the community of Colchani (gateway to the Salar) where we will find rustic handicraft workshops and the rustic micro-processing of table salt. -Continuing with the expedition to the majestic Salar de Uyuni we will make stops to see the salt extractions, the eyes of the salar and the Playa Blanca salt hotel that currently only functions as a museum. -Later we will visit the most popular island of the Salar located in the middle of the Salar, the Incahuasi Island where we will walk and we will be able to appreciate large expanses of cactus, marine rock fossils and spectacular 360º views from the viewpoint. -At the end of our tour, we head to our Salar lodge to rest. Day 2: Ollague Volcano Viewpoint - High Altitude Lagoons - Siloli Desert - Stone Tree - Colorada Lagoon -We start the day with breakfast at the lodge made of salt. -From there, we head to the Ollague volcano viewpoint, where we can admire a volcanic desert landscape and the sparse vegetation typical of the Andean heights. -Afterwards, we will visit several lagoons such as Chiarkota, Hedionda (so called because of its sulfur smell), Onda and Ramaditas, the latter surrounded by flamingos that use them as feeding and resting points during their migrations. -We will enjoy lunch en route at noon. -We will continue our journey to the Siloli desert, where the stone tree, a peculiar rock formation, stands out. -Then, we will head towards the impressive Laguna Colorada, known for its striking red color. -Finally, we will arrive at the village of Huayllajara to have dinner and spend the night in a family lodge of the local community. Day 3: Fumarolas - Polques Hot Springs - Laguna Verde - Valley of the Rocks - San Cristóbal - Uyuni -The day starts early with breakfast, followed by the departure to the fumaroles and cracks in the earth where volcanic lava and sulfurous gases can be observed. -Continuing along the route, we will reach the hot springs, known for their beneficial properties for arthritis, where you can relax and take a bath in waters ranging between 25 and 32ºC temperature. We continue our journey through the second desert on our itinerary, known as the Salvador Dali desert, which offers an exceptional panoramic view and a unique desert landscape. -Later, we will arrive at Laguna Verde, whose characteristic green color is due to its high mineral content, located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano, which reaches 5,916 meters above sea level. -Then we will head to the town of Uyuni, making stops to visit Villa Mar, the Valley of the Rocks, the town of San Cristobal with its stone church, before concluding our tour in the town of Uyuni.
