Description

Day 1: Start your excursion at 10:30 am with a drive to the Salar de Uyuni. The first stop is the eerie “Cementerio de Trenes” (Train Cemetery), which is located on the outskirts of Uyuni. Then visit the small settlement of Colchani (salt miners' workshops next to the salt flat), there you will also find handicrafts made from salt, and textile art made from llama and alpaca wool. These are excellent souvenirs to take home. Take pictures while navigating the vast white expanse of salt, wade the “Ojos de Agua Salada”, visit also: a hotel made entirely of salt that is currently used as a museum - restaurant, Flags of the world (where you can bring yours and put it there for free) and a Monument of the Dakar race. After a morning of exploration, Lunch will be served on the way, after that, you will have time to hike to the top of Incahuasi Island to see giant cactus and rock formations made of petrified coral. Next, take time to organize your group to take fun photos distorting perspective and proportion, on the blinding white surface of the salt flat, playing with the scene, you are sure to take fun and memorable photos! Finally, head to a large area to live the unique experience of watching a beautiful sunset over the salt flat, spreading its dazzling colors all over the Salar de Uyuni, and enjoy it with a glass of wine. Accommodation: Agencha Hostel: 3, 4, 5 and 6 bed rooms + shared toilets / no Wi-Fi. Day 2: Departure at 6:30 am for breakfast. First stop, the Chiguana desert, on the south side of the Salar de Uyuni, surrounded by volcanoes such as Ollagüe, which is still active and can be seen from the viewpoint. Then, continue along the rocky road to visit: Lagunas Cañapa, Hedionda and Chiarcota where flamingos can be seen. After lunch, enter the “Reserva Nacional Eduardo Avaroa”, visit the Siloli Desert (the highest and driest in the world), and have your picture taken next to the “Rock Tree” (a lava rock formation). Before reaching the final destination, stop at the Red Lagoon viewpoint to see more pink flamingos in their natural habitat and admire this deep red lake. Accommodation: Huayllajara Lodge, 6-bed shared rooms + shared bathrooms, no hot water (to protect the national park) / no Wi-Fi. Day 3: Start early, around 5:00 a.m., to visit the Sol de Mañana Geyser and walk next to fumaroles and steaming craters filled with boiling mud pots. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to take a bath in an open-air hot springs with water at 35 Cº. The next places to see are the Dali Desert and the Green and White Lagoon. Then, return to Uyuni passing through beautiful landscapes on the way and having a PICNIC lunch on the roadside. On the way, pass through the Valley of Rocks and make a short stop at the village of San Cristobal for a swim. Arrive in the town of Uyuni between 17:45 and 18:45.
