Description

Embark on a 4-day tour of the Bolivian Salt Flats and the Atacama Desert. Visit the Salvador Dali Desert, Polques Hot Springs, and the Sol de Mañana Geysers. Explore the Salar de Uyuni, the Incahuasi Island, and the Dakar Races Monument. Day 1: Hito Cajón - Huayllajara After completing the migration process at the Chile-Bolivia border, depart from Hito Cajón, the Bolivian border point, at 09:30 am by 4x4 vehicle with an English-speaking guide. Highlights of the tour include the Lincancabur Volcano Lookout, Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca, the Salvador Dali Desert, the Polques Hot Springs, the Sol de Mañana Geysers, and the Red Lake with flamingos. Spend the night in a basic hostel in Huayllajara in a 6-bed shared room for the same group as the 4x4 car tour, with shared toilets. Enjoy lunch and dinner. Day 2: Huayllajara - Agencha Start your trip after breakfast at 8:00 am with visits to the Árbol de Piedra, the Desierto de Siloli, the Laguna Cañapa, the Laguna Hedionda, and the Laguna Chiarcota. In the Lagunas, observe flamingos in their natural habitat. Continue along the rocky road to visit the Mirador del Volcán de Ollague and the Valle de las Rocas. Spend the night in a basic hostel in Agencha in a double or shared room with 3 beds for the same group as the 4x4 car excursion, with private toilets in each room. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Day 3: Salar de Uyuni - Uyuni City Start your journey after breakfast at 8:00 am with visits to the Salar de Uyuni, the Incahuasi Island (to see giant cacti and petrified coral rock formations), and a hotel made entirely of salt, now used as a museum and restaurant. Continue to the Banderas del Mundo (where you can bring your own flag and plant it for free) and the Dakar Races Monument. Continue visiting the small settlement of Colchani (salt miners’ workshops next to the salt flats). Here you can find crafts made from salt and textile art made from llama and alpaca wool, which make great souvenirs. Spend the night in Albergue Pueblo de Uyuni. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Day 4: Uyuni City - Hito Cajón Start the day with breakfast. Head to the Uyuni Train Cemetery to take some photos. Then continue your road trip to the Bolivian border at Hito Cajón. Enjoy lunch en route. Upon arrival, your guide will assist you with the migration process. Arrive at your final destination (San Pedro de Atacama) around 18:00 - 18:45. Drop off at your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. Enjoy breakfast and lunch.
