Description

Discover the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat, on a guided day trip from La Paz. Explore the eerie Train Cemetery, the salt miners' workshops, and the Dakar Monument. Enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sunset over the salt flat. Day 1: Meet at the bus office at 8:30 PM to check in and board the bus from La Paz to Uyuni at 9:00 PM. Enjoy dinner, breakfast, a bottle of water, a hot drink, heating, toilets, a fleece blanket, Wi-Fi, and a first aid kit on the bus. Day 2: Arrive in the city of Uyuni at 7:30 AM. Enjoy free time to buy snacks, water, and other items for your trip. Then, head to the office, 1 block from the bus station. Start your tour at 10:30 AM with a trip to the Salar de Uyuni. The first stop is the eerie Train Cemetery, located on the outskirts of Uyuni. Then, visit the small settlement of Colchani, where you'll find crafts made of salt and textile art made of llama and alpaca wool. Take photos as you navigate the vast white expanse of salt, wade through the 'Saltwater Eyes,' visit a hotel made entirely of salt that is currently used as a museum-restaurant, and see the Flags of the World. Bring your own flag and place it there for free. After a morning of exploration, enjoy lunch on the way. Then, walk to the top of Incahuasi Island to see giant cacti and rock formations made of petrified coral. Next, take your time to organize your group to take fun photos distorting perspective and proportion on the dazzling white surface of the salt flat. Playing with the scene will make the photos fun and memorable. Finally, head to a wide area to experience the unique opportunity to watch a beautiful sunset over the salt flat, extending its dazzling colors across the Salar de Uyuni, and enjoy it with a glass of wine. Return from your tour to Uyuni between 7:15 PM and 7:45 PM.
