Description
First day - - - - Mountain biking starts at 7:30 am. Point 1: This is a 22 km downhill on a paved road. At the police checkpoint (after 45 min.) all visitors pay Bs. 50 for the entrance to the national park. This first stretch is to get you confident and get used to the bike. Don't worry, the security van always goes behind the group and we have stops for water, photos and bike checks. Point 2: 'Death Road' about 10 km. always in a tight group (safety first!!!) and also snack time. Point 3: About 32 km. It starts with a splashing waterfall!!! Finally, the end of the tour is in Yolosa, so the next stop is at a hotel with showers, swimming pool and also a buffet lunch. Approximately at 5:00 pm. It's time to head back to La Paz driving on the new road. At the end of the 'Death Road Tour' the guide will drop you off at the bus office to take your bus from La Paz to Uyuni. **Take your bags because you won't be returning to your hotel**. The bus leaves at 9:00 pm. Second day - - - - Arrive in Uyuni town at 7:30 am and head to our office, located 1 block from the bus station, Free time, to buy water, snacks and use the toilets. Start your tour at 10:30 am leaving Uyuni town towards the Salar de Uyuni (full day tour) with a visit to the Uyuni 'train cemetery' to see Bolivia's first locomotives and take amazing photos. Next, visit the small settlement of Colchani (salt miners' workshops), and see crafts made from salt and textile art made from llama and alpaca. Take photos as you sail across the vast white expanse of salt. Afterwards, visit 'Ojos de Agua Salada', a hotel made entirely of salt that is currently used as a museum, the island of the world's flags and the famous Dakar Monument. Lunch will be served near 'Isla Incahuasi' then you will have time to take a hike to the top of the island to see giant cacti and rock formations made of petrified coral. From the top admire the 360º of the Salar de Uyuni. Take your time to organize your group to take fun photos of distorted perspective and proportion on the blinding white surface of the salt flat. Afterwards, head to a spacious area to live the unique experience of watching a beautiful sunset over the salt flat with a glass of wine and some chips. Return to Uyuni City at our office at 19:00. Then, head to the Bus Office at 20:30, because your bus from Uyuni to La Paz leaves at 21:00.
