Description
Day 1 Head to the Bus Office at 8:30 PM for check-in. The bus from La Paz to Uyuni departs at 9:00 PM. Onboard, enjoy dinner (with meat and vegetarian options), breakfast, a bottle of water, a hot beverage, heating, restrooms, a polar blanket, Wi-Fi, and a first aid kit. Day 2 Arrival in Uyuni at 7:30 AM. You will have free time to buy snacks, water, and other necessities for your trip. (We have free time because all businesses and tourist sites are available from 10:30 AM onwards.) Then head to our office, located one block from the bus station. Your tour starts at 10:30 AM with a trip to the Uyuni Salt Flats. The first stop is the eerie 'Train Graveyard,' located on the outskirts of Uyuni. Next, visit the small settlement of Colchani (salt miner workshops near the salt flats), where you can also find salt crafts and textile art made from llama and alpaca wool—great souvenirs to take home. Take photos as you navigate the vast white expanse of salt, wade through the 'Saltwater Eyes,' and also visit: a salt hotel currently used as a museum-restaurant, the World Flags (where you can bring and place your own flag for free), and a Dakar Rally Monument. After a morning of exploration, lunch will be served on the way. Afterwards, you will have time to hike to the top of Incahuasi Island to see giant cacti and coral-petrified rock formations. Important: Due to the rainy season (January to March), access to Incahuasi Island may not be possible. Then, take your time to organize your group for fun perspective and proportion-distorting photos on the dazzling white surface of the salt flats—playing with the scene will surely result in fun and memorable photos! Finally, head to a wide area to experience the unique view of a beautiful sunset over the salt flats, spreading its dazzling colors across the Uyuni Salt Flats, and enjoy it with a glass of wine. Return from your tour to our Uyuni office between 7:15 PM and 7:45 PM. Afterward, head to the Bus Office on your own at 8:30 PM. The bus from Uyuni to La Paz departs at 9:00 PM.
