Description

Itinerary Start: Day 1 at 07:00 at your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. End: Day 3 at 13:00 at the bus terminal or in the center of San Pedro de Atacama (this end time may be modified due to weather conditions or force majeure, so we recommend that you schedule your departure from San Pedro de Atacama for the day after the tour ends). Day 1 We will pick you up at your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama to head to the border between Chile and Bolivia by shared transport. After completing customs formalities, we will begin the tour in private transport that will take us to visit various tourist attractions of the Bolivian altiplano, such as the Green and White Lagoons, and the Sol de Mañana Geysers. We will also pass by Laguna Colorada and Italia Perdida. Here we will walk through the rock mazes that the wind has formed over hundreds of years. Next, we will pass by Laguna Vinto and the viewpoint of the Anaconda Canyon, from where we will have a panoramic view of a very unique landscape in the middle of the desert. After this long day, we will arrive at San Juan del Rosario, where we will have dinner and rest to continue the next day. Day 2 We will leave very early in the morning to enter the Salar de Uyuni and settle in to watch the sunrise. After witnessing the first light of morning and taking advantage of the panoramic views for photos, we will continue our journey through the interior of the salt flat to Isla Incahuasi, where we can get down and walk along the marked trail. This will allow us to see the salt flat from above and gain a better perspective of its vastness. Next, we will visit the Salt Museum and the Dakar Monument, before heading to Colchani. We will also visit the train cemetery before arriving in Uyuni, where we will have lunch. Afterward, we will continue our journey to Villamar, where we will spend our second night. Day 3 We will start the day early in the morning, making brief stops at tourist attractions during this part of the trip. The first place we will see is Laguna Colorada. Next, we will visit the Sol de Mañana Geysers and the Polques Hot Springs. Before reaching the border, we will pass by White and Green Lagoons, near Licancabur Volcano, and have our last close-up views of the mountain range before crossing into Chilean territory. After completing formalities, we will arrive in San Pedro de Atacama by shared transport, where our tour will conclude. Note The visiting times for each location in both programs are limited, as there is less time available than on a four-day excursion to Salar de Uyuni. During January to April, it rains in the central Andes. Therefore, it is possible that the described itinerary may be modified as follows: The first night is spent in a hostel in Uyuni. We do not visit Isla Incahuasi, where there is a higher concentration of water during the rainy season.
