Description
Day 1: Puno - Aymara Route At the indicated time we will pick you up from your hotel in Puno to begin this fascinating adventure. Our first stop will be in Inca Uyo, known as the Temple of Fertility. There you can see the phallic sculptures that are erected at the entrance and in the interior areas of the enclosure. You will be surprised by its history and meaning! Next, we will go to the Molloco Archaeological Complex, a pre-Inca settlement of the Lupaca culture. It will be like traveling back in time! Then, we will learn about the Andean Waru Warus, ancient techniques that allow cultivation in flood-prone areas. We will see how these wonders of agricultural engineering create a microclimate that protects crops from frost. Our next stop will be the Aramu Muro Portal, also known as Hayu Marca or Willka Uta. This altar carved from a single piece of rock measuring more than 5 meters is surrounded by a very particular landscape. You will feel the energy of the place! For lunch, we will go to a Juli restaurant, where you can have à la carte dishes. Afterwards, you will have the afternoon free on the beach on the shores of Lake Titicaca where, if you wish, you can do water activities such as kayaking, quad biking, zip lining or a sailboat ride. We will conclude the day in a hostel in Juli, where we will spend the night. Day 2: Juli - Puno We will have breakfast at the accommodation and begin the second day touring the churches and museums of Juli. Another day full of culture and history! Our first visit will be to the Óscar Velasco Mesas Museum, followed by a tour of the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. We will continue with a guided tour of the San Juan de Letrán church and the San Pedro Cathedral, where you can immerse yourself in the architecture and religious art of the area. We will also enter the church of Holy Cross of Jerusalem. To close this Andean experience with a flourish, if you want you can participate in a coca reading on San Bartolomé Hill alongside the yatiris, who are the healers and wise men of Aymara medicine. At approximately 2:00 p.m., we will return to Puno, ending this 2-day tour at your hotel.Includes
